Aer Arann Islands is an airline based at Connemara Airport off the west coast of Ireland. It provides an island-hopping air service between Connemara and the Aran Islands, has scheduled scenic flights around Galway and the Cliffs of Moher, and offers a charter flight service. It has been in operation since 1970 and has been owned by Pádraig Ó Céidigh since 1994.
Aer Arann Islands approached Armour with the intention of upgrading their internal ticketing system and their website. Their aim was to restore functionality to their ticketing and online booking system, enable and increase online sales on their website, and to attract new visitors to the islands through a visually led site. This required a user-centered approach, considering the needs, wants and limitations of the staff, visitors and the Aran Island residents.
The website was redesigned using an appropriate colour palette to complement the Aer Arann Islands brand. Full-width imagery of the islands, as well as galleries of the fleet and scenic flights were used throughout the site to appeal to visitors to the islands. An online booking is facilitated at all times through a quick entry banner that is fixed to the bottom of the screen.
